Hot for central and southern Europe, cooler Scandinavia
Tuesday Staying hot across southern Europe, localised thundery showers forming during the afternoon in central and eastern Spain, also the spine of Italy. Chance of a shower forming for the Balearics, Sardinia and Corsica, but largely dry across the Mediterranean. Locally a shower for western Greece, but dry across the Greek islands and Turkey. High pressure extends into west and central Europe, bringing dry weather from Portugal to northern Spain, across France and the Low Countries, Germany and Poland. Risk of showers forming for the Balkan states. Patchy bursts of rain for northern Romania. Westerly breezes through Scandinavia. Largely dry with variable cloud for Denmark and southern Sweden. Rain and drizzle fairly persistent in Norway. Patchy rain for Finland, may persist in the east.
Wednesday Some showers developing over eastern Spain today. Elsewhere dry with sunny spells and staying hot. Remaining fine through the Balearics, just an occasional shower in Sardinia. Corsica should be fine and dry. Italy will have some heavy showers in central and southern areas whilst there is lots of sunshine for northern Italy. Greece and Turkey will be hot and dry with plenty of sunshine. Sunny and dry for France as well as very warm. The Low Countries and Germany will be dry with lots of sunshine too. Poland and Hungary stay dry and very warm. More sunshine and dry weather to come through Austria and Switzerland. Cloud and a few spots of rain for Denmark but mostly dry. Scattered showers in the Baltic States. Heavy, thundery showers and longer spells fo rain as well as being cool in Finland. Mostly dry for Sweden. Norway will have heavy showers in the west.
